Who are you/what do you do?
ThreadStone began in 2014 with just one important mission: to make the Netherlands’ and Europe’s internet safer and more secure. We offer reliable, practical and affordable cybersecurity solutions for both small and large organisations that we develop and distribute ourselves from within Europe. Automated and scalable wherever possible.
Why The Hague?
As the city of peace, justice and security, The Hague was a logical choice for ThreadStone.
Why the HSD campus?
ThreadStone Cyber Security won the HSD Development Fund innovation award in 2014. This is where ThreadStone began and therefore it is only natural that ThreadStone should be based here.

René has more than 25 years experience in ICT. Following his professional career in which he began as a programmer with CMG (deployed to ABN-AMRO bank), he quickly climbed the ladder to become a project manager responsible for several large projects. In 1999 René became an independent business owner and co-founded the Dari Groep which included several operating companies in ICT and finance. In 2007 the largest branch (financial secondment services which at the time amounted to just under 100 FTE) was sold and he became director of Dari IT Services (network management services for SMEs). Following the sale of this operating company in 2013, René started ThreadStone Cyber Security, which he enjoys running together with Richard Klein.
