Who are you/what do you do?

TIIN Capital is an investment group, founded in 1998, with a strong network of angel investors and family offices, working together with governmental bodies and corporates. TIIN Capital invests in technology companies through several funds and launched its 6^th Venture Capital Fund in 2018: the Dutch Security TechFund. With this fund we focus on early-stage companies and scaleups, active in Cybersecurity and Security solutions.

TIIN invests € 200.000 - € 1.000.000 in startups and € 500.000 - € 2.500.000 in scaleups and brings companies to the next level by not only investing capital, but also by providing a unique and strong Cybersecurity eco-system in The Netherlands, with crossways into Europe. Besides giving hands-on support, our network helps with access to advice, insights, talent, markets, customer introductions, potential partners, etc. The eco-system consists of corporates, governmental bodies, regional investment companies, angel investors and industry experts.

Dutch Security TechFund invests in Cybersecurity, Compliancy, Privacy solutions, Securing IoT, Cloud Security, and Securing Automotive. Target companies should have their HQ in The Netherlands or have plans to establish an office in the Netherlands and should be scalable, disruptive and have growth ambitions. We look for teams with passion and vision, consisting of winners with execution power and drive to become tomorrow’s Cybersecurity leaders.

Why The Hague?

Opening an office in The Hague at HSD Campus positions us in the center of the Dutch Cybertech ecosystem and puts us close to some of important partners of our fund, such as KPN Ventures and InnovationQuarter. The Hague is internationally renowned as the city of “peace and justice” and harbors a potent mix of ministries and HQ’s of large international organizations. Together with the municipality of The Hague this allows us to create opportunities to support and boost startups and scaleups to become successful global players. 

Why the HSD Campus?

Michael Lucassen, managing partner at TIIN Capital explains why his firm decided to open a dedicated office at the HSD: “Opening our office at the HSD Campus, puts Dutch Security TechFund amidst today’s cybersecurity tech-innovators and entrepreneurs. It also provides access to the network of HSD for those entrepreneurs from outside Europe looking to enter the Dutch and wider European (cyber)security market.”
